The C stock seem to be bad - listening to it in the morning, there is a definite thud thud thud as we rocket along the Wimbledon Branch. Can't say anything about the D stock though - I seem to be followed by those C stock. But I can't say that I'm arguing...

I've had a few shockers the last few days and they seem to be getting worse. Think a lot of drivers are just dropping the handle when they're on the Uxbridge branch...

Indeed, very slippy conditions on the Wimbledon branch especially East Putney/Southfields/Wimbledon Pk on Thursday 5/12. Causing the leading speedo to read 50-55mph with the train at a stand at Wimbledon Park UP!

This happens every year as the leafs fall the number of flats go up, about time the District & Piccadilly lines had RATs. If the Met can have an A stock RAT , the District needs a D or C stock RAT

Thankfully, there will be a D stock RAT, or several, once the fleet start to be withdrawn. However would they just convert the trailer car or add in additional cars like the met?

You should hear some of First Great Western's finest: most units sound like a chorus of anvils, and it feels like the MK3 coaches have gained underfloor engines!

Wasn't 1468 unit off the Central earmarked to be a RAT train for the Piccadilly?

Always thought the Piccadilly should have a RAT, especially how bad it gets between Ealing Common - Rayners Lane! Wonder how that 59ts with Piccadilly line stickers in Acton Works is nowadays? Or more likely and a bit easier to do, you could have the Met line RAT run to Acton Town and back whilst doing its bit on the Met, I'm sure there is a break for it during the day where it sits at Neasden or Watford for a while?

I think that one is only being kept as strategic spares for the Central Line RATs. Noted that an additional motor car was being worked on for swapping with a trailer in one of the RATs to improve acceleration.
There was an option of converting 67 / 72TS trains into RATs for various lines using the vehicles in store at Eastleigh, but there are rumours that other uses are now being looked at for those vehicles.
Regards,
Dan

Totally agree I was on a Turbo few weeks ago which had a severe flat on the leading boogie which was deafening and must increase wear on the bearings and potentially damage the track too! At what point does a train get taken out of service when it has a severe flat as on this instance was l very noisy and not exactly reassuring for passengers? I think most of you will know my opinion of First by now and the way they operate so enough said! XF
