Is A between Carpenders Park and Bushey, where Bushey water troughs used to be?
+1 for B and D.

Between you you have A, B and D correct. So just C (the one unmodified image in the set!) and the link left to get: Location A: Between Bushey and Carpenders Park - Viaduct carrying Oxhey Road over the railway [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location B: Between Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland - view west from Dalston Kingsland [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Location C: (click for a larger version) Location D: Thames Tunnel [londonstuff] (click for a larger version)

It is London Overground, but it isn't near Willesden.

That answer wasn't the most helpful, so I'll expand. Location C is photographed from a London Overground train, but that has nothing to do with the link.

C looks like the view from a GOBLIN train between Holloway Road and Gospel Oak

You're close, but the GOBLIN doesn't serve Holloway Road station

Yes it is between Gospel Oak and Upper Holloway, looking down on the Tottenham North Curve (I think).
So what links the locations between Bushey and Carpenders Park, Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland, Gospel Oak and Upper Holloway, and Rotherhithe and Wapping (Thames Tunnel)?

the second location comes after the first location alphabetically in each case too A couple of years back I realised I had separate entries in my database for "Between Cyprus and Gallions Reach" and "Between Gallions Reach and Cyprus", and a couple of other duplicates. To avoid this I decided that the canonical form would be in alphabetical order, even though I've always accepted either order as correct for guesses (e.g. Reganorak was correct when he said A was "between Carpenders Park and Bushey" even though they are in the opposite order on the answer sheet). I do still get it wrong occasionally though - when setting this question I discovered an entry in my database for "between Royal Albert and Prince Regent".

They all span a unitary authority boundary: Carpender's Park is in the Three Rivers district whereas Bushey station is in the Watford urban district; Canonbury is in the London Borough of Islington whereas Dalston Kingsland is in the London Borough of Hackney; Gospel Oak is in the London Borough of Camden whereas Upper Holloway is in the London Borough of Islington; Rotherhithe is in the London Borough of Southwark whereas Wapping is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Well done that's very nearly spot on, just replace "unitary" with "local" (as none of them are Unitary authorities)
