Don't know if this has been aired previously:
At Chancery Lane the EB line is over the WB. At. St. Paul's it is reversed - i.e. WB over the EB. The reasons are well-known why lines may be on top of one another, but why were they 'reversed' between the two stations?

We had a thread on this a while ago - January 2010 as it turns out. abe's reply here gives a very comprehensive answer. The very short version is that it's due to a combination of the height of the land (street level at St. Paul's is somewhat lower than at Chancery Lane) and the desired gradient profile. I do recommend reading the full post though.
