Hmm, wonder if certain people will be able to submit a bid, without the MoD and LU laughing at them?

The London Transport Museum? I think it would be nice for the museum to have a disused but used station, but I doubt that they could afford it. I know someone who is in the MoD sub-organisation that is selling it, and I've heard that it isn't going cheaply!

I wonder if there would be, or even if there could be, underground apartments with views of the trains going past, but maybe I'm wandering into fantasy territory

The sale doesn't include the platform areas, platform stairs, or footbridges, which have always remained the property of LT/LU/TfL. The MoD area starts, IIRC, shortly beyond the lower lift landing. What is being sold is basically the surface building with its basement, the lift shafts (probably less one used for ventilation) and the lower lift landing.
