No correct answers thus far, but as the picture is not modified there are no other images to give you. I will though say that this is in neither an E nor SE postcode.

It's much closer to central London than that

It is indeed a lift. So you are looking for a location that: * has at least one lift with a glass shaft * Is not in the E or SE postcode areas * Is closer to central London than Heathrow
Other than the answer, there is only one other station I can think of that might fit that (I can't remember what the lifts look like there, but I'm pretty certain it's not like the one above)

It's not Westminster, is it Earls Court?

I'd opt for Earls Court too.

It's none of those stations, but Earl's Court is the geographically closest suggested so far.

The lifts at Hammersmith are fully enclosed (I used one last time I was there), and anyway this station is not served by the District Line.

I don't know why I'd say Wembley Park or Paddington (aren't I just guessing now...)
Definitely not Wood Lane. Been there too many times...

Oh wait. oops! I realised that actually Imperial Wharf is closer to earls court (and further from wood lane) and meets the style a bit better

Imperial Wharf +!
All glass elevator, and white girders? Yeah, probably.

The other station I mentioned earlier where I can't remember what the lifts look like but which could plausibly be in a glass shaft is Hillingdon, but I know that doesn't have the stairs around it like this one does.
