Is that the end of Acton Town turnback sidings at the East end? Looks like where the ERUs are normally kept?

This is just a headsup that for reasons that are too complicated to go into, tomorrow's quiz may be delayed. It will appear tomorrow, it might not be the midnight start you're accustomed to, but should be up by breakfast time at the latest. Sorry.

'Tis the season of good will, no answers match the one on the card so points for everyone! Answer: Between Acton Town and Chiswick Park - sidings viewed from 1967 stock. [Chris M] (click for a larger version) As for the non-LU location, I'm surprised fleetline didn't spot it; it's a fair bit more north than Chatham: (click for a larger version)

It's probably because we can't see the enlarged versions.

Well why didn't you say earlier!
I've just checked, it would appear that the full-size images have not been uploaded. I suspect that this is linked to the quiz for today not being available yet.

I was supposed to mention it earlier but it slipped my mind, tbh I thought someone else would mention it or it may have been a known problem to Chris ;D.

Progessingnicely has identified where I took the photo from (bonus points if you can be more specific), but it's the rather architecturally fine building that is the answer being sort.
Deep Level - no, it wasn't a known problem. Although once it was mentioned I knew exactly what had happened and what two second action was required to fix it.

No-one seems to have mentioned the address as the yard adjacent to Frank Pick House, 130 Bollo Lane which was IIRC home to Mechanical Engineering and L&E. Someone mentioned ERU but those vehicles were kept in Acton Works parking areas.

phillw - it isn't a Town Hall.

railtechnician - I didn't know the address and didn't bother to look it up! I used to be based next door and we shared a common road entrance.

It has a Mancunian feel to it.

Not well enough to give a definite statement. I am wondering if the bridge railing in the picture is the bridge over the road outside Piccadilly station.

The picture is indeed taken from Piccadilly Station, but it's the one building we are looking for.

We have a winner. Whether Rich32 has a Mancunian feel about him I cannot say, but he has correctly identified the old London Road Fire Station in Manchester.

No, Londoner through and through, but I did have quite a few friends back in the day that went to Uni in Manchester.

According to HWMBO (resident of those parts) it is the old London Fire Station, Police Station and Coroner's Court.
