A single part question for you all today with [glow=red,2,300] [/glow] for the background: (click for a larger version) And for a little bit more fun, how many railways can you see in the background picture?

Well, the foreground image is Lillie Bridge (with West Ken East IMR on the left). Haven't a clue about the background!

Points today to Tom and pgb. Answer: Main photo: Lillie Bridge Depot - view south from West Cromwell Road [Rincew1nd] Inset: Lifeboat in Douglas Bay, Isle of Man [Rincew1nd] (click for a larger version) Please bear with me whilst I reminisce: My picture of Lillie Bridge depot was taken by chance; I had hired a Boris Bike from outside the Science Museum whilst HWMBO went for a swim in the Queen Mother pool ("most disappointed - wasn't filled with gin, just water") and I had stopped to check on my phone where the nearest docking station was when I realised that this was the view just over the wall. Luckily I managed to make it to a docking station before my free time ran out (being a mere visitor to these parts). The picture of Douglas Bay was taken a few years ago on the occassion of the Manx Transport Festival in July. Having discovered that nowhere in Ramsey does Sunday Lunch after 1pm on a Sunday lunch was bought from a supermarket. We sat in the back seat of a "toast-rack" trailer car on the Manx Electric, flipped the seat ahead of us over and laid out our spread on the resultant table: Two cheese sandwiches, a sausage roll and three boxes of chocolate liquors. Decending into Laxey we noticed a lifeboat in the bay, which seemed to race us back to Douglas. As we rounded Onchan Head it was obvious that it had beaten us (and the now empty boxes of chocolates) back to Douglas, this is when the picture above was taken. As we have no contenders for my question about the number of railways in the picture, all I'll say is that one or two of them are a little sneaky and at least one has vanished without trace.

Not so fast, old bean.... Old bean? I suspect you are mistaking me for a character from Dumb Ways to Die..... I've been thinking about this most of the day, so off the top of my head... Douglas Bay 'Oss Trams Jiass Raad Yiarn Lectragh Dhoolish / I think the DSET is visible Upper Douglas Cable Tram Falcon Hotel Cliff Lift Douglas Head Cliff Lift heirs and successors to the IoMT&EPCo, starting with the Douglas and Laxey Bay ditto for the IoMR I am frantically checking my sources for the fourteen railways that were visible from Karina earlier in the day. I suspect you've just rattled over the crossover at Howstrake. Sounds about right to me; it was 2008 and my memory fails me precisely. However, the next picture I took was when we came to a grinding halt: Isle of Man June 2008 057 by rincewindthefailedwizard, on Flickr
