No rincew1nd or cso this evening as they seem to both be involved with ultra exciting shenanigans so I'm arbitrarily posting one of my own pics from the summer as a mere stopgap. Enjoy. ;D Full size version here

Hmm - I'd post the quiz but I can't find the right url atm.
I'm going to place a guess based on the non-stopping possibilities that it's somewhere on the Picc. Quite where, I'd have to have a good think about.....

That would be the old South Quay Station.
Sorry, too tired to E-Mail my answer in.

londonstuff's photo - Northfields, old light box TD on the eastbound - not sure whether EB fast or EB local platform though.
Edit - and the old South Quay DLR station for the 2nd photo.

I don't have the answer to londonstuff's photo, but the answer to the main quiz is, unsurprisingly for a DLR question, what Deep Level said. Answer: South Quay (old) - southbound approach [Chris M] If anyone has any more photos of the old South Quay suitable for the quiz I would particularly welcome them as I now only have one picture in stock.

Interesting that the old lightbox @ Northfields shows Barons Court, Acton Town, Arsenal & Covent Garden all as possible destinations This had to be on the District side platform as the right side of the lightbox is fixed to the pillar. Two of the apertures (on the second line) had arrows which lit to indicated which platform was being referred to. This looks in deplorable condition. I remember these in the 50s and possibly early 60s when they were in a better state
The best indicator board l can remember was at Acton Town on the District w/b. Painted Dark Green, and seemed to work on a sort of electro-magnetic contact system. It was there until the early 60s l think, and still showed South Harrow as a possible terminus, and the one in this photo cannot be the one on the e/b District platform at Acton Town as tthat would not have had "Acton Town" as a destination, but "Stops Here" instead

I think you'll find that only Acton Town was a destination on that board (apart from the normal destinations maybe?), the others (Barons Court, Arsenal and Covent Garden) were stations to be non-stopped.
The Picc Line had a complex system of non-stopping (or it could be described as skip-stop). Of course it achieved very little, because it wasn't possible to overtake - you just caught up with the train in front.
By October 1933, non-stopping mostly confined to three groups: A – Gloucester Road, Covent Garden and Holloway Road. B – Brompton Road, Caledonian Road and Arsenal. L – Brompton Road, Caledonian Road, Arsenal, Boston Manor and South Ealing.
Brompton Road dropped off the radar when it closed in July 1934.
My notes say that what remained of non-stopping (east of Hammersmith) was abolished from 3.2.47.

I was sure I took that photo at Acton Town but as everyone's plumped with Northfields I'll go with it. <quiz amateur!> Here's the unmodified version with Cally Road showing:

I too would have gone for Acton Town where there was an identical lightbox BUT for the fact that Acton Town and not "Stops Here" is behind one of the glass plates
