While travelling to Stratford today and sitting at the front, I noticed a sign on top of the S stopping card at Caledonian Road & Barnsbury that kind of went 3<2<1--1>2>3. Never seen a sign like that before. What does it mean?

Its a stopping mark for the drivers, I beleive. They have had some problems at cally road, there is a sign on the westbound signal reminding what side the drivers need to open the doors on.

There has been numerous incidents of wrong side door opening at this station. Not sure what the 3 2 1 1 2 3 means but i know that Dazz will as he is a Driver, me im just a mere Guard who does not deal with such nonsence.

Why is this station more prone to wrong side door incidents? The layout, from what I can see, isn't massively different from other stations, unless it's changed since I last went through it last year!

It is one of only three island platforms (where doors open on a different side to normal) on the North London Line routes and it is the only one where there are extra tracks outside the platform roads. Maybe as westbound drivers have just left Highbury and Islington, where the doors open on the other side of an island shared with the East London Line, there is the possibility of confusion.

Gosh, I'd totally forgotten that it is now an island platform. It's clearly been longer than a year since I've been through there! I'm assuming the layout changed when they extended the ELL to Highbury?
