"Multiple" means "having more than one part, component, etc", so in this instance it means "the name has more than one word". I've never known it to mean or imply more than 2?

To me, multiple means having more than one part.
eg a Diesel Multiple Unit is composed of two or more single units.
I think Chris was trying to say it wasn't single-word station.
