With much still to do from recent days, including yesterday and question 2000, you're slipping behind somewhat! Let's see how you do for with this link question: Identify these stations, the link between them and the odd one out. Station A: (click for a larger version) Station B: (click for a larger version) Station C: (click for a larger version) Station D: (click for a larger version)

I'll agree with Old Street for D and propose the mathematical bridge over the Cam for the inset in B. Sorry, I don't know its actual name.

I will resist inset B and see if someone else gets it first. Of course - that's the Mathematical Bridge at Queen's. Official name is the (rather uninspiring) Wooden Bridge.

I promised myself I wouldn't sing..... Station B: Warwick Avenue - passage from south western entrance [Chris M] (click for a larger version) So, just the link to find now, and which of the four is the odd one out.

I'll start with a obvious guess with Finchley Road as it is a cross platform change with centre islands out in the open whereas all the others are underground. Even Aldgate East you interchange on the same platform.

Finchley Road is the odd one out, but it's not for that reason - platforms and elevation relative to the ground aren't relevant on this occasion.

Is Finchley Road the only one with just one entrance from the public highway?

It's not to do with entrances, though the number of something does lead to the odd one out.

Is the link that they are all 1 stop away from a station where you can interchange to 4 other lines
Finchley Road is one stop from Baker Street on the Met where you can interchange with Jubilee, Bakerloo, Circle and Hammersmith and City
Warwick Ave is one stop from Paddington on the Bakerloo where you can interchange with National Rail, District, Circle and Hammersmith and City
Old Street is one stop from Moorgate on the northern where you can interchange with National Rail, Metropolitain, Circle and Hammersmith and City
Aldgate East is one stop from Liverpool Street on the Hammersmith and City where you can interchange with National Rail, Metropolitain, Circle and Central

.... alternatively they are all 1 stop away from the circle line. Leaving the odd one out as Aldgate East as it is 1 stop away from the Circle on 2 tube lines.

Your second attempt is very nearly correct - the link is that they are all one stop from an interchange with the Circle Line, but as previously established it is Finchley Road that is the odd one out.

Is Finchley road the odd one out because its 1 stop interchange to the circle does not offer a national rail interchange whereas the others do?

No, that's coincidental. National Rail is irrelevant.

Is Finchley road the odd one out because its 1 stop interchange to the circle does not offer a national rail interchange whereas the others do? The tube map displays the reason for Finchley Road being the odd one out.
