Hello all,
After the success on releasing my District Line signal sim, I'l be re-vamping my old Victoria Line sim and re-building it from fresh.
I want to implement realistic speed limits but I can't recall if I have them right. On my old layout, the main limit is 50mph (80kmph), is that right? By main, I mean on the whole NB and SB lines bar crossovers and Northumberland Road lines (which I believe are fast, when I had a cab ride years ago, we shifted up to Northumberland Park crossovers, don't know if it was 50 or not).
Also, I seem to recall that the crossovers before Walthamstow and Brixton are at full line speed for both platforms?
One more question, I can assume that the headshunts and tunnel siding roads across the network are 10mph? or is it 15?
Any help would be appreciated ;D
Cheers,
James.

I was puzzled by the fact that this question had been up a month yet hadn't even been touched, despite the fact that there are people on the forum who have been involved in the Victoria line since the begining, if not before. Then I saw this www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/victoria-lines-train-speed-a-state-secret-tfl-refuse-to-reveal-details-on-national-security-grounds-8319156.htmlOh dear, oh dear! Well, unfortunately for TfL, they give a nominal figure on their own website: www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/modesoftransport/londonunderground/1608.aspx"On the Victoria line, stations are wider apart and trains can reach speeds of up to 50mph" Of course figures exist elsewhere on the web in many technical, professional, enthusiast and popular pages. There are also books, some of which published by London Transport, which mention what the line was designed for, what its original stock was designed for, what it was limited to, and what it ran at. So, there you go. Maybe do an FOI to the London Transport Museum on the design speed; a combination of ineptitude, poor communication and bureaucracy will *surely* mean that they'll tell you by mistake? Just don't pass the information on to Eurasia, or Eastasia, or whoever our anoraked enemy are...

The speeds (probably pre-upgrade) between each station on the Victoria Line have already been published by TfL! I will not link the documents as TfL would probably remove them. The document just states a speed between stations (so may exclude any potential slacks), but only one nominal speed, 76 km/h (47.2 mph), is mentioned for the Vic. Looking at this thread it seems, post upgrade, the speed is now 50 miles/h.I think the FOI request denial is a classic case of "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" which seems to be common in bureaucracies.
