Sorry for the slight delay, but I was working on this question until a few minutes ago. As you should have spotted from the thread title this is the 2000th question of the daily quiz, having started way back on 1 February 2007 and running every day for 11 months of the year (and whichever days in December a Christmas quiz isn't running) since then. Although I've put each question together, I've been ably assisted over the years by (in chronological order) Aspect, Robster, SE13, cso and Rincew1nd with MRFS having stood in on a short-term as needed several times. 39 members (including myself) have supplied 1 or more photos used for main locations and 26 have had their work features as an inset or background. So, without further ado I present today's special question: Identify the four locations in the image below, the link between them and the fifth in the set (click for a larger version) For ease of reference, the locations are lettered as shown on the following image:

One of them is Pontoon Dock, I will edit this to add the letter in once the key image is working . C - Pontoon Dock

The only one I can identify I can identify is D. Don't where the sign is from but the picture was taken in the sign gallery at the LT Museum Depot at Acton.

Three guesses, three correct. Location A is the one you didn't attempt, this version may help. (click for a larger version) gantshill gets the points for B Location B: Marble Arch - platform decoration [Chris M] [Chris M] (click for a larger version) It will come as no surprise that Deep Level identified a DLR station Location C: Pontoon Dock - westbound platform [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Pitdiver gets the points for D Location D: Acton Museum Depot - sign store [Chris M] (I don't know where it was originally either!) (click for a larger version) There is a link and a fifth in the set to find, but I'm not giving any clues until you attempt them!

Points to Deep Level; Station C: Pontoon Dock - westbound platform [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Also points to pitdiver; Station D: Acton Museum Depot - sign store [Chris M] (click for a larger version) And finally points to gantshill; Station B: Marble Arch - platform decoration [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Which just leaves A: (click for a larger version) And the link to get. The link may require thinking caps and teamwork, but remember "the clues are there".

No it isn't. A is not an interchange station.

No, it does have a W in its name and it is on the Underground, but other than that there is not a lot in common between the two!

I don't know why you wouldn't be allowed to answer? Anyway, you are correct, A is West Kensington West Kensington - window on westbound [Chris M] (click for a larger version) Now, what is the link and what is the fifth in the set?
