+1:the fake facade at 23/24 Leinster Gardens between Paddington and Bayswater.
Chosen today because the line between Paddington and Bayswater (and on to Gloucester Road) was opened on the 1st October 1868.

+2.
With no need for steam ventilation couldn't TFL raise a few million by building actual houses on here now?

23/24 Leinster Gardens - 1868 Anniversary aside, it was built at the time when the ancestor of TfL (Met Railway) ran steam trains, so they had to build open shafts at regular intervals so the passengers (now referred to as customers) don't get overwhelmed by the smoke.

+2. With no need for steam ventilation couldn't TFL raise a few million by building actual houses on here now? The problem with blocking open shafts is that the heat has to escape all year round. It may be getting cold now outside but on the Bakerloo line I doubt the average temperatures have decreased enough with more people now travelling.

And the bendy busses need somewhere to deposit all the hot air they've soaked up in The City.

Ummm, the answer on the card doesn't match the musings above. However my instinct tells me the card is incorrect; so in until Chris M appears to sort it, there's still plenty of September to answer.

Yes, I've only done a half-arsed job with that answer file, sorry. The bonus is correct: Services on this stretch of line began on 1 October 1868 Tubetrain 29 gets those points.
The monthly answer file has the correct details for the question picture: Between Paddington (Praed Street) and Bayswater - view from Portchester Terrace
I'm going to say that Astock5000 and Tubetrain29 share the points today, as although the former was first the latter gave all the necessary detail.

Ummm, the answer on the card doesn't match the musings above. . The musings above discuss what you are looking at - the rear of the facade of 22/23 Leinster Gardens. If the answer on the card is "Porchester Terrace", this is consistent with where the photographer would have to be to take such a picture. The caption at the bottom of the answer image says neither of those things - but I'm pretty sure it's NOT Barking sidings!

Indeed, the answer on the card should have been "Portchester Terrace" as that's where I took the photo from. However, when creating the answer files I normally take a copy of the one for a recent question that had the same structure and modify that. In this case the source was the question from 21 August (the previous one with a bonus question where the image was modified but the unmodified version could be posted without giving the game away if the location hadn't been identified), which was of Barking Sidings. I just forgot to do that find and replace.
