Well done, you've correctly identified both images here: Allan60 gets the points for correctly spotting the LU location is Rayners Lane Junction, viewed from the adjacent footpath. (click for a larger version) The remains of the small building in that picture (what was it?) inspired the choice of backgrounds. While revupminster was first to note it was Hadrian's Wall, I was today after just a bit more than that. Phillw48's noting that it is a milecastle was sufficient to get the points, but some also to Andy as his answer is spot on. This is Milecastle 39 and that is Crag Lough in the background.
