Before anyone asks, yes this is in the right area. I did not post it here by mistake I've noticed something in the planned engineering works here that unless trains can mysteriously phae through walls would be impossible. On some days, some FCC trains will terminate at "Turn Pike Lane". How can they go through the ground? It would take years of building tunnels fr this to occur and would be rather pointless. Also the trains can't fit in the tube tunnels and I'm not sure about the station either. www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/static/filemanager/Web_GN_Engineering_Summary_Combined_120705_RD.pdf

Buses replace trains between Turn Pike Lane and Stevenage via Alexandra Palace and Hertford North. Passengers are advised to use the Piccadilly Line from Turn Pike Lane into London. Seems a fairly logical diversionary route... they've even stated that from Turnpike Lane, it'll be the Piccadilly Line providing the onward service, to save their trains from having to negotiate the narrow tunnels

On some days, some FCC trains will terminate at "Turn Pike Lane". It doesn't say trains terminate there, it says replacement buses start there - presumably there is some reason TPL is more convenient than, say, Finsbury Park for terminating the "Schienenersatzverkehr".

It's not clear from the sentence, but reading further on you discover that there is no interchange available at Ally Pally to decant pax onto. I'm hedging a guess here, but this is probably related to the GN capacity enhancement work, so the up lines are probably going to be under possession and the limited paths available on the down lines have been allocated to long-distance trains. Therefore it is far better to decant the local Hertford loop pax onto the quick and frequent Picc service rather than try and force through a couple more trains that would be crawling through to Kings Cross.

It could have been worded better. Buses replace trains between X & Y does imply that the trains did/ do serve X or Y.
Possibly a better solution would have been : No trains between Kings cross & Gordon Hill. Buses will run between Turnpike Lane ( Piccadilly line) and Gordon Hill via Alexandra Palace.
The work is, I believe, connected with the improvements to the ECML with additional line & platform at Alexandra Palace & Finsbury Park.

It's not clear from the sentence, but reading further on you discover that there is no interchange available at Ally Pally to decant pax onto. Also, Ally Pally is entirely unsuitable for mega interchanging between rail and bus due to steps only up onto the (rather narrow) footbridge. The road goes in 3 sides of a square round and over the line just north of the station. There is either a steep path up to the top road or very little road space outside the station building. Although the W3 passes this way, there would be no room for stabling waiting buses and the facilities would not cope with a whole trainload of passengers trying to change, or many mobility impaired passengers. Also, it would be hard to get a bus out onto the rods that go north.

We do love our little errors. Least this one isn't backwards.

Hertford line trains will come out of service once they reach Gordon Hill. Although just what the ex-Manchester United, Derby and QPR player is going to do with all that rolling stock, nobody knows

Although I won't complain, as last time I had to change there there was a coach driver shouting "I'm going to Hatfield only then I'm going off home", so I naturally jumped on and got home before the (all-stations) train would have!
