I was looking through photos of LU from the 1980s when I came across this one. Nothing really comes up when I searched in Google. Does anyone know what happened and what year it was? Thanks www.flickr.com/photos/mank999/5740984267/

Ooo-err. That looks a lot of damage for a slow speed shunt collision.

It got on the local TV news and the driver was shown being stretchered off. The information suggesting 1987 on flickr sounds about right.
There was another serious incident some years later with a stock instructor badly injured at Northumberland Park Depot on a 67 stock which hit the stops during training and the instructor was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance.
There was quite a spate of collisions in the 1980s, some fatal, however the Victoria siding incident is one that seems to been forgotten about.
