A posting in another place suggested the A stock might be getting restricted to the Uxbridge line. Is that the case or do they still make forays out to Amersham? I'm only asking as I'm planning to take my last ride on one, on Friday, and I'm hoping to 'bookend' the day out in London with it - I'm staying with parents out towards Amersham.

They sure are, the few that are left work everyware on the Met, but it will be more a case of luck now to get one going where you want it to be. |

5060 + 5090 were on Amersham all stations 413 yesterday till they got put in the depot, and reformed into 5060 + 5022 came out for the evening peak running fast Amersham and all stations back.
Even though I live on the Uxbridge line, I would not want that to happen. A stock are more suited for the long distance Amersham/Chesham runs anyway.

Trains 414, 444, 445 & 450 were all worked by A stock today.
414 runs to all the Met destinations.
There are only 5 weekday workings that go to all the Met destinations these are 406,414,415,427,452.

5094+5102 left Baker Street for Chesham at 11:15.

404 5189 5034 (Chesham's)
444 5119 5062 (WF/BS/UX/BS)
The other 2 sets were out for the morning peak :
470 5103 5094
471 5023 5090

So, it seems if anyone is planning on getting an A Stock that 444 would seem to be a pretty safe bet at the moment.

If only they kept one or two A stocks in service like they do with the route masters. It'll be a shame that the next time I visit Londkn, there won't be an a stock  |

Tonight both the 1652 & 1755 ex Aldgate (Amersham Fast's) will be A stock:
1652 5189/5034
1755 5119/5062
All the other fast's will be S stock.
