Anyone know what method they are using to cool the stations? Are they just going to run water through pipes to bring the temps down? Also will this be exclusive to these two stations or are there plans to use it on other Vic line stations? Just curious. Thanks!

I've seen some sort of graphic on the net involving groundwater pumps and heat exchangers - blowed if I can remember where it is though!

There are pipes being installed in the westbound Piccadilly line tunnel heading towards Hyde Park Corner, you can probably just about see where they will enter the station area if you look across from the headwall part of the platform.

I was at Green Park two nights ago and the cooling fans were switched on. I don't want to be pessimistic but the air they were blowing out felt warmer then the air already in the platform!
The plumbing looks so complicated.... There are copper pipes going all over the place around the units, and the pipes going along the platform... I get nervous seeing so many valves and pipes! The poor newly refurbish platform is turning into a boiler house.
We just need a hot day to see what happens...

Does that Green Park system actually use aquifer water in the circulation? I take it that where the heated water ends up is nowhere near any boreholes used to supply drinking water... I don't fancy the idea of changing the mixture of micro-organisms around the water supply in case you encourage growth of something nasty. I know they treat the water to kill microbes off, but that treatment doesn't necessarily remove any toxic substances those microbes may have produced whilst alive.
