Hi guys I have noticed that since the new Distance to go signalling has gone live, the 2009 stock seem to be braking a lot earlier than normal into Victoria in both directions. However is this to provide a smoother journey? Because it feels like its litrally on the minimum brake setting and the train doesn't even feel like its braking Also why I'm talking about this subject, I dont know if this has been mentioned before on here, but why is there a speed restriction in place at oxford circus SB. I thought it would get removed with the new signalling but its still there. Why is this??

I think until the new timetable is in and seven sisters to depot has been installed we won't see much. However my guess is that oxford circus and Victoria are busy stations it may be for safety it would not be good for a train to be coming in at 40mph on full belt at least at around 20-25mph its a bit safer don't you think? i will have to try this out on Thursday.

Think I've said elsewhere on the forum, but these are headway speed restrictions. Slowing the trains in these locations allows you to run them closer together to make up for the extended dwell times in these locations. Less haste more speed (or kind of)

SS to depot has been installed, bar the bang road moves (and the slots) - the new WTT (34: 22.4.12) has been recast already significantly shorter journey times than WTT 33. Of course, there are 43 trains for a 33-tph service!

From what I've been told, there's been 10 minutes taken off a round trip. The line's significantly faster since the new signalling was introduced.

Having watched a full journey on Youtube of the 2009 stock it speeds between stations are fast its only really at Victoria they come in slowly. In my opinion its much faster than the rather sluggish Northern line!

Plus the fact that the trains have better acceleration.

Really its the trains which provide fast service because the Northern line trains are so restricted in performance hopefully they will be faster though when ATO is turned on but is TBTC an agressive ATO system like the Victoria?

The trains are running much faster now - when it is safe to do so.
