No 12 Sarah Siddons is listed as one of the exhibitions at the forthcoming York Railfest (2-10 June) as mainline stock from around the system is now being collected and sent to York I wonder if anyone can provide times/details of No12s move North ?, first time away from the 4th rail for many years

That's odd, 395019 is going by rail (being dragged though).

That's odd, 395019 is going by rail (being dragged though). I know it's either an official, semi official, or enthusiast's term but why "dragged"? Wouldn't "pulled" or "towed" sound much nicer. I've never had the privilege of actually seeing Sarah, but I've read much about her and she doesn't deserve to be "dragged" anywhere.

"towed" implied Sarah had been parked on double yellow lines, and "pulled" has a totally different meaning when a girl's name is next to it I don't know what name would be suitable though!

Sarah is currently on the move by rail, ran with the s-stock class 20's from west ruilsip to ferme park this evening as 6E20, 92032 and 66744 will then take sarah upto york stopping off at doncaster on the way, but they should all be at york before you wake up in the morning.

Thats very surprising that she is making the journey by rail rather than road.

It went through Ealing Bdy last night at around 20.35 o'clock hundred hours PM on the Overhead side heading towards Paddington if that's where it was going..............
Two 60's built locos were in front, SS behind, three or four tanker wagons behind SS and another two, I think, locos pushing or being towed from the rear.............

As she is an operating locomotive registered for the 'main line' why should she not be transferred by rail? I suspect that the tank wagons are barrier wagons being returned to collect more S7's. The locomotives were not 20's or 37's by any chance? It may have been convenient to transfer her this way but I wonder how she will make the return journey?

She may have been in the past but I doubt she is registered now. I don't think Metronet/LUL spent money fitting Sarah with AWS, TPWS and OTRMS duing her refurb.

The consist from West Ruislip-Ferme Park was: 2x20s+Sarah Siddons+Tanks+2x20s And then from Ferme Park onwards to the NRM It was GBRf 66+Sarah Siddons+Class 92

What struck me yesterday at Railfest, is that Sarah has quite a prime location. She's pretty much smack in the middle of the event, adjacent to Tornado, prototype HST and Sir Nigel Gresley... however seemed to be getting next to no attention. Whereas the nearby iconic locos have cab visits, there is no access to Sarah. Therefore most visitors seemed to be walking past as there isn't much space to loiter... All in all quite a pity, but we must remember that Railfest is first and foremost a National Rail event and LU would be overlooked. The event itself is, IMO, well organised and is significantly larger than the one held back in 2004... well worth a visit
