This pic illustrates the BBC article about the forthcoming strike but I've never seen it before. The link of the photo suggests it's Morden but has it been doctored - I've never seen Morden look like this. Thanks

Definitely Morden, roads 28-34 roads (left to right) in view with No.31 road empty.

And the building in the background with the dome and 2 minarets is the Baitul Futuh mosque. Located on London Road, it's one of Europes largest mosques.

Definately not doctored.
My grandparents used to live off Martin Way, near Morden so I have memories of passing that huge Mosque on London Road. It even looked huge as a young kid. As a 30+ year old now...it still does.

I was surprised by this photo...Our school used to take us each week to Morden Sports Ground,many moons ago (mid 70s) and it certainly wasn't there then (There was a dairy?). Things change very dramatically,and it's certainly more striking than what was there before. Morden South station,hard by the end of the depot,and visible from the sports ground,like many of the Wall of Death Line stations,was semaphore signalled and had Southern "Bar and Circle" green enamel signs,at that time.
