My boyfriend stupidly left his iPhone on a Piccadilly line train recently. Today he got it back, just as he left it, and is wondering what he did to deserve such good fortune. We think a Picc driver probably handed it in, so thank you, and thanks to the great Lost Property office which found it so quickly! It could be that Picc line customers are more honest than your average Londoner, of course

You certainly are lucky! Though the Find My IPhone facility would have helped you track it down. There are honest people in the world still.
My son found a digital camera on the street after a big football match - we checked the photos, found a picture of a few people in school uniforms, identified one girl who was in both the uniform and some family holiday snaps, identified the school from the uniform, emailed the secretary a picture of the girl with a note to call us. A few quick questions later about what make the camera was, where it was lost and where some of the pictures were taken, we were satisfied who was the rightful owner and made sure they got it back. It was much more satisfying to do that than just pocketing the camera!

Something left on the seat on a Bakerloo Line train a month or so ago. I was too far away to see exactly what it was because it was right up near the window, and I was squashed in near the opposite window. The next passenger, middle aged guy in a suit picked it up and it was then I saw it was an iPod still with ear buds attached. A little smirk and then the iPod disappeared inside his briefcase. The smirk seemed to suggest that the iPod would never be reunited with its rightful owner.

Which line has the most friendly drivers? One man's 'friendly' is another man's "annoying git" ;D

Which line has the most friendly drivers? There is no particular line which has all the jovial drivers and vice versa. However there may be a possibility that the characteristics of a line could contribute to their happiness. E.g. some Northern line drivers may not always be so happy because the line is called depressing by so many commuters. I dunno, that's just what I think ;D. But anyway, it's good to hear of situations resolved like this as mentioned in the OP.

You certainly are lucky! Though the Find My IPhone facility would have helped you track it down. Yes, there's a few apps that will let you do various things remotely to a lost (or stolen) phone. There's one for Android (and presumably the iPhone) that will let you remotely control your phone once lost in order to delete or e-mail you its data, set off an alarm or 'brick' it. A good tip is when you get a new camera or insert a new SD card is to take a picture of your name and address so that if anyone finds it and looks through the photos they know who it belongs to
