Last weekend I intended to catch the last Victoria Line northbound from Brixton. I can't remember if I caught the last NB or one of it's predecessors, however I remember when boarding at Brixton it was described on the platform and on the train as being for Seven Sisters {no diamond}. Once I was somewhere north of Victoria the on-board displays started to read "this train is not in service, please operate a passenger alarm"
The train continued to call at all stations until I left it at King's Cross. Being the semi-knowledgable person that I am, I denied the instruction to operate the PEA. Should I have, or is this simply a case of 'Operator Error'?

Staff train to the depot.

I've got a feeling the Train Op flicked a switch to Not In Service by error.
When trains are de-trained for stabling they are checked to make sure there's no-one in the carriages, and the Train Op is then supposed to make a PA announcement asking anyone on the train to operate the PEA, and I guess this on the DMI reflects the aforementioned announcement. The Train Op and station staff can get into a lot of flack if anyone is over-carried...

There is a not in service button on the drivers desk that illuminates when activated, this must have been activated in error. This is the only thing that will cause the not in service messages.

Is meant to illuminate! Didn't on 11005 not so long ago, but then again train 3 has a mind of it's own. lol
