Hi,
Whilst waiting on the westbound Circle/District platform at Victoria this morning, I noticed that there was liquid dripping from two cylindrical tanks mounted under a D-stock trailer car.
One of the tanks has what appears to be a level gauge on its end.
Presumably these are de-icer fluid tanks?
Can anybody confirm?

More likely the compressor tanks - they build up condensation, and all you saw was the water dripping off.
Was it at the west end or east end of the train? De-icing fluid would only be carried at the west end, and only on certain single ended units.

Do the D's have a condenser or water trap in the system?
Presumably the trains compressors have a wet sump (oil), maybe the piston rings on the compressor on that trailer were worn and it was passing oil into the air??

Could either be de-icing fluid,did the car have a blue dot by the number?,or the automatic drainer on the main reservoir.

Sounds like de-icing fluid. I had one of these spring a major leak recently, fortunately in an open section. A driver going the other way stopped and pointed it out to me - there was quite a waterfall out of the side of the train! I had no idea what it was at first, but the train technician confirmed that it was de-icing fluid.
