when you log in on Sunday morning Logging in on Sunday morning interferes with fishing. However, if the weather is inclement, and leaving either the phone or the laptop accidentally logged on without being present aside, I may well look in. I assume the new forum version will be air-conditioned, walkthrough, feature a controversial seating arrangement, nowhere to hang your umbrella and be unable to operate in the Chalfont bay platform. Anything less would be rather dull.......... Let's put it this way, if it were designed by me, it'd fit down pipes and have luggage room by the doors... Not so sure Piccadilly Chris quite has the same ring! Anyhow, it'll be ready for the fishermen on Monday

Good luck for the new mods, and looking forward to the revamp-furb-fresh!
Can only echo what was previously said about the stories; there are some on here by towerman and the infamous Q8 right back near the begining of the... historical... board? Could easily read a whole book of them to be fair! And pay for it, to boot...

I think it needs making clear that the forum changes are only part of the far bigger picture. The main changes are to the District Dave website which has been virtually rebuilt from the bottom up (mainly by ChrisW) at Dave's suggestion. It was changes to the basic style of this that led to similar changes being implemented to this forum (mainly by Colin) to keep the same 'house style'.
In other words, changes to the forum are an effect, not a primary cause. That should explain to some who are 'keen to help' why the admins have been rather cool - all suggestions so far seem to have ignored the existence of the main site completely.......and the main site is ready for release too at the same time as the updated forum.

Never say never - we have new forum staff and I think all of us have accidentally deleted something or other that we really didn't mean to at some stage!! ;D ;D ;D I think my faux pas was to delete a thread announcing the arrival of a new forum staff member. I was attempting to post a congratulations type reply to the thread on a phone with a small screen..... ;D ;D IIRC Phil managed to rescue part of it through his PC's cache. Good times!! ;D ;D ;D

Isn't a refurb also known as a refresh? Quite frankly either word will do but refurb perhaps implies a bigger change so we'll go with that word.... ...... ..... The term 'refresh' started to get used to describe improvements carried out to rolling stock because refurbished stock has to comply to the DDA, where refreshed stock doesn't. I do hope you're still referring to the refurbished site, here ;D

Gosh, does this mean I can wake up in the morning and check the daily quiz on my laptop without putting my glasses on? You'll have optometrists up and down the country in uproar! Good luck new (and returning) peoples, and big wet licks to everyone else!

Dear Admin Team
As a recent joiner, but an occasional observer for a while, I hope my contributions are not seen as a load of tosh. But when dropping in, the immediate access to the most recent 70 posts is now impossible; unless I'm blind and I can't see it. Not even at the bottom of the home page.
Where is it good Admin People (grovel). No seriously it was a useful route to see new threads quickly, and chip in. Please can you restore a button at the TOP of the Home page and Recent Threads.
Cheers Ricp

Actually, it is still there on the 'FRONT PAGE', below the 'Forum Statistics', is a clickable '70 most recent posts' . I use it all the time!

This has already been mentioned in the feedback thread within the noticeboard area..... We are looking at this alongside some other items that have also been raised, so rather than constantly change things bit by bit, we will be doing a revision all in one go. I'll probably get shot for revealing it, but certain features that were removed will be returning I cannot say when we'll be ready, though discussions are continuing apace. We are looking at days not weeks EDIT: @ Kentucky Tony, we have tried to manipulate the top buttons but the code failed to work - what we have up there is what we're stuck with unfortunately.
