Are there any drivers here (or even not on here) who blog about their job? Or even any other TfL (and other railway) job? I've read a couple, but apart from ASLEFshrugged's, most aren't updated regularly anymore!

Although a TO's job is not physically demanding, the nature of the job requires him/her to remain alert at all times insofar as he/she can never relax while at the controls. This constant state of alertness can itself be very tiring and so at the end of a shift, a TO can feel just as exhausted as someone who has spent the day building a house or digging the road up. I would think that a TO's leisure time is very precious to him/her and writing blogs is the last thing on his/her mind.

Without knowing which ones you know about and which you don't, here are some Underground Gal - www.undergroundgal.co.uk/ - updates seem to be infrequent these days though Severe Delays - severe-delays.livejournal.com/ - fairly frequent updates, but the Underground topics are mainly just anecdotes. All the posts are well written though. The Number 23 - thenumbertwenty3.blogspot.com/ - the blogger indicates their about to change jobs within the engineering side of LU, so blogging frequency and topics may change. Version 3.1 - www.version3point1.co.uk/ - A station staff member, a contributor here and excellent photographer. Going Underground - london-underground.blogspot.com/ - Not LU staff, but the biggest blog about the underground there is.

Are the automatically driven tubes - Victoria line, Central line, Jubilee and Docklands light railway less demanding?

The DLR is a different kettle of fish to the automatically driven tube lines as the staff members there act as a combination of guard and driver. Train operators on LU are combination drivers and fitters/technicians. The two roles are possibly equally demanding (I don't know) but they are not directly comparable.
Between the automatic and manually driven tube lines I'd say there was no practical difference in the levels of alertness required as ATO does not eliminate the need for driver observation and situational awareness. I'm not a driver though so this is speculation.
