Just passed a 3 car train 776, just after Acton Town. It came through Acton Platform 3, and was heading back towards Acton when my pic departed...
Any idea what the train was for, was doing and what sort of stock it was? I didn't get a picture unfortunately as travelling for work.

This is the Track Recording Train (TRT/TRV) Formed of 1960 Tube Stock Motor Cars with ex 1973TS Trailer Car TRC666
It goes across the entire LU network (with the exception of the Waterloo & City) and records the quality of the track
It will be replaced by the Asset Inspection Train

Any idea what will happen to the TRV now the AIT has arrived, will it be scrapped or has it been earmarked for preservation / conversion to other duties?

We're doing our best!! I had a look at the overall plan today and that has the pilot cars down as being retained by TransPlant for other duties. Hopefully the TRC will get preserved as it has been an important part of the engineers train fleet for so long. Regards, Dan
