Evening all, I got onto one of the organised tours of the new St. Pancras hotel yesterday which was obviously built to accommodate traffic coming from the railway. While not directly related to the tube, I thought it may be of interest to some. www.flickr.com/photos/londonstuff/sets/72157626555540454/</plug>

An excellent set of photos! It's just amazing how the place has changed. Are there any more tours available, might anyone know? And, if so, how does one book?!!

Tours are £20 which includes tea, coffee and pastries at the end in the Booking Hall bar. They're approximately 90-minutes long and have small groups of no more than 10. Once a month they have a bigger group with a shorter time for £5.
Phone the hotel, 0207 841 3540, go through to the concierge and then ask to be put through to the historical tours fellow, Royston, who will give you available dates, etc.

If one chooses to partake in such a tour, is there a dress code?

Great set of pictures! To think it was earmarked for demolition. Britain really did destroy itself in the 60s.

I wonder what Betjemen would make of the refurb, considering he was one of the figureheads in saving it...

What a wonderful job they have done with the place, it looks stunning. I think that Betjemen would have felt that it was worth the effort he and many others have put into getting back to what it is now.

I was aware the hotel was being restored, but I wasn't aware it was now open. Stunning pictures - looks like a wonderful place to stay, though a little out of my price range!
