I'm no expert, but I'd have thought that lofts, etc of station buildings would be more likely home to bats than lift shafts. They tend to prefer somewhere with a direct access to the outdoors (where the insects they feed on fly) than I presume most lift shafts have. Page 20 of this PDF details the work LU did to create an enhanced bat habitat in the disused tunnels at Highgate. Between 1996 and 2003 Brown Long-eared bats and Naterere's bats were found there. I've not been able to find any other references to bats on LU.

Another thing about bats is they need a good supply of insects, usually near open bodies of water. Another thing is bats are now protected and their presence may not be common knowledge to protect them from disturbance.

Does anyone remember the black and white station cat at Parsons Green? It was a rather unfriendly character but was well looked after at the station. On many an occasion the "screetches" of car brakes were heard as it crossed the road outside the station. It used up all its 9 lives, the last in 1987 when a car got it. The cat was buried by a Parsons Green motorman called Trevor I believe.
