Pretty sure the station is Park Royal. ;D Spot on, Park Royal it is. Just the remaining inset to find now: As I clue for that one, I took it, and didn't recognise it when I first saw it! Main photograph: Park Royal - heritage sign on footbridge [Chris M] *Click image for a larger version*

Oops, I knew always mixing Alperton and Park Royal would get the better of me one day...

The roundel did not appear on the Underground until 1908, and took 25 years to evolve to the form shown on that sign. Alperton only acquired direct trains to Kings Cross in 1932. So I was puzzled by how it can be an "original feature" of a station opened in 1903! UntilI realised the station was rebuilt in 1932.

Inset 1: Mitre Bridge Junction? It isn't. However, I just happened to be passing when I took that picture, and have no idea what the loco is, so if anyone can provide any information as an aside, I'd be grateful.

That loco looks like 34058 Sir Frederick Pile, one of the SR Battle of Britain class.

Looks like Great Northern Terrace level crossing, going to or coming home from work SE13? Spot on! I was going from the depot up to the bus station after booking on. First bus was waiting for me up at the bus station, spotted the steamer, and as I was taking the picture the damn crossing alarms started going off, so I had to do a bit of a runner! *Click image for a larger version* Top left (blue building) is Siemens which was RGT, and behind the white building is the bus depot. The sidings shown run down the side of Great Northern Terrace and further down separate the road from the depot. Out of shot to the left is Pelham Bridge, and slightly further is Lincoln Central station. IIRC, that loco was pulling 15 carriages, Lincoln only holds about 5!

You'd probably be right there; the nameplate is way too small for Sir Frederick Pile and you can just about figure Tangmere on it.

You'd probably be right there; the nameplate is way too small for Sir Frederick Pile and you can just about figure Tangmere on it. Just one of those annoying days when I wasn't aware that anything was due in, I only had my phone with me, and about two seconds to get any decent shot at all - Plus my glasses were in my work bag and there wasn't enough time to get them out and take the picture. The footpath only runs on the opposite side of the road, so I had no chance of seeing any detail, and by the time I was clear of all the hedges, everything was way out of sight. Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.
