Hey, since discovering this forum just over a month ago, it is without doubt the most fascinating thing Ive read for ages. Love to read what people say... no other forum comes close from what ive visited, so well done to everyone that contributes to that! Glad im not alone in my love for London Underground My other love is London Buses (hope the missus doesnt see that comment, hehe) I wonder if there is such a dedicated forum for London buses too, not come across one yet, maybe someone here does...

I know of one, but it is near to impossible to register there. You will have a PM shortly.

I an others have give up with The Bus Forum...it seems impossible to join.
DD's is # 1 as they say but quote a few of us are also members of Rail UK Forums who also cover the Underground and some buses.

That'll be the same forum as I applied to join in August 2009! According to the message I get, it's still pending approval.
I feel guilty when an account here has waited more than a couple of days!

As a longstanding member of said forum, you should not bother! It is, postwise, currently levelling down to the lowest common denominator. I was formerly amongst the top half dozen posters, but haven't bothered for the last six weeks!

DD's is my favourite followed by RailUK. With these and one other forum, I can pretty much use up several hours a day! [Good thing I am retiring! ]

They did suffer an 'attack' from a bunch of 'wannabies' about 18 months ago, and they haven't got organised again since then it would seem!

Not quite a forum, and not as good as DD's in my opinion, but there is a large amount of discussion regarding London Buses on the London's Transport yahoo email group.

The best London Bus forum by far has to be the google photo group london-bus-scene@googlegroups.comLike DD it is awash with both enthusiasts and staff ranging from drivers to management of the various London bus companies as well as TfL, other members include authors and preservationists. The group is owned by an experienced bus driver who has many years experience behind the wheel and who has run online photo groups for more than 10 years and it is a very busy group with no shortage of experts and many excellent photographers. If one likes bus pictures there is no shortage as something arrives every day, some days more than 100 messages with attachments and if one doesn't like pictures there is plenty for the bean counters and rivet counters too.

Sorry my mistake although your browser should have offered to redirect you to googlegroups! Perhaps that only works if one is already registered to googlegroups, as it works for me! Anyway the link for the group webpage is here groups.google.com/group/london-bus-scene

You need a Yahoo account to access it.

You need a Yahoo account to access Yahoo groups, but as this is a Google Groups group you need a Google account. You also seemingly need to be registered to view the group.

Thanks for that - looks good and have applied to join. Also on a bus related topic, does anyone know what happened to the blog "another day on the buses" created by a Zimbawean UK bus driver. It was interesting reading but I can't access it anymore. It was at loades.net/megabusblog/ but seems to need some sort of sign in now.

I thought I was the odd one out these days as I have no interest in twitter, facebook or messenger services. I have had Yahoo and Google accounts for years and would think that anyone with almost any interest in anything would too! You need a valid email address, username and password AFAIR, and that has to be registered to googlegroups IIRC but it's been a few years since I signed up and some things have changed since. Google is far better than Yahoo IMO speaking as a member of several dozen transport groups belonging to one or the other.

I'm not looking to join more groups at the present time as this place, two unrelated internet fora and about a dozen yahoo groups (transport related and not) take up what time I have that Minecraft and Wikipedia don't swallow!

I'm not looking to join more groups at the present time as this place, two unrelated internet fora and about a dozen yahoo groups (transport related and not) take up what time I have that Minecraft and Wikipedia don't swallow! I can sympathise with that, until I did a little culling a couple of years back I was active on more than 100 groups. I ditched many of the more obscure bus groups, related transport groups and some others. Although I still belong to many I have become a receiver only for the majority, concentrating on London Bus Scene, UK bus photo, Eurotrams and one rail photo group, I would say that I participate most these days in DD and several specialist telecoms groups. At one time I could spend 6-8 hours at the keyboard but I try not to spend more than 2 hours a day with forums and email these days.
