1=South Wimbledon 2=Hownslow West 3=Aldgate East for the main, inset, somewhere on the LTS, perhaps around Leigh On Sea and Chalkwell 4=Clapham Common for the main

The church in the inset looks as if it is Russian Orthodox. It might well be in Russia itself. It does look as if it needs money spending on it and the roof appears to be of corrugated iron!

Inset in C is an up c2c train between Chalkwell and Leigh on Sea, taken from the footbridge on the Chalkwell side of the original pre 1930's station in Leigh Old Town, I believe?

Still plenty to go at, this is what we have so far: Station A: Station B: Hounslow West - seats on platform Station C: Aldgate East - pillar on eastbound [Chris M] Inset in C: Station D: Inset in D: *Click any image for a larger version*

'A': Clapham South 'D': Clapham North
So the link is to do with points of the compass.

Inset 'C' is New Road Leigh-on-Sea. The building on the right is a pub called the Ship Inn.

It is. I'd have given it based on yesterday's identifications but I can't fault SE13 if he doesn't know the area (not that I do having been there precisely once) (click for a larger version)

No, I don't know that neck of the woods at all, so apologies to any I missed that were close.

It threw me at first as the pub was painted a shade of Metropolitan red (crimson lake) last time I was down that way.

Can we have the answers to this, or some clues for whatever is outstanding? Thank you!

Can we have the answers to this, or some clues for whatever is outstanding? Thank you! The outstanding is the inset in D: And we're still looking for the link between the main locations.

Thanks. Somewhere in Greece for the inset?
And the link is definitely nothing to do with points of the compass?

It's not Greece, no. The link is sort of to do with compass points, but not directly. The locations themselves are key: - Clapham South
- Hounslow West
- Aldgate East
- Clapham North

Ah - so the compass points correlate to the relative geographical positions of each place - except that Clapham isn't north and south of central London... (unless you're thinking of Clapham in Yorkshire!).

This is not a geography question, and Yorkshire is not relevant.

I meant it is not directly relevant to the answer of this question - as yours truly is a Yorkshireman, the finest county is always represented in the quiz.

I'm a southerner myself, so I'll keep my head down So it's more complicated than the fact that each location has more than one LU station?
