Morning all!
Apparently cars 11039 and 12039 from train 20 were spotted heading south on the M1 yesterday (24/05/12). May I please ask what exactly was wrong with 11039-11040, that it needed to return to Derby for so long? Did it keep on stalling? Did it have various different faults? None of the above?
MTIA for any further info.
Best Wishes
Green Lion.

The sides were put on backwards! Do you mean the whole bodysides? How come noone at Bombardier noticed it? Did this affect the running of the train? Best Wishes Green Lion.

Couldn't have done much, as it entered service 19/11/10 and returned to Derby about a year later. Unless, of course, it was out of service for any length of time before returning.

If it had no major bearing on the train's operation, then how was the problem spotted in the first place? Perhaps I'm miss understanding something, but how can flat, metal panels be put on the wrong way round? aren't they the same on both sides? Many thanks for any more info. Best Wishes Green Lion.

The ones with the 4-5 inch holes drilled in for the external door access cocks were in the wrong place. It was not acceptable to repair the one and drill the other, so they the car was disassembled to the point where they could be swapped. By wrong place, I mean behind the wrong set of seats further down the car. It had been known about for a while but didn't affect operation. Shows how observant you lot are!

The commissioning run for T20 never happend on Sunday for a reason which I am unaware of at this time, so T20 still hasn't come out to play! I'm waiting to be advised of a new date.

Finally, the whole of the 2009 fleet is available! Yay! Great that 11039-11040 is back with us again! haven't seen it out and about yet though, but then haven't been looking too hard for it yet. It certainly won't be out today, with the line completely closed. Could someone kindly tell me how many trains are required for normal service and the AM and PM peaks on the Victoria Line please? MTIA for any info. Best Wishes Green Lion.

The intent of 47 trains is that they will eventually use 43 in the peak and 37 in the off peak IIRC.

Thanks to all who replied re: the peak and off peak allocations for the Vic. I'd somehow been under the impression that the new timetable with 43 trains in the peak had started already, but seemingly they're building up to these dizzy heights gradually!.
Thanks once again for all the useful gen.
Best Wishes
Green Lion.
