A little while ago Homebase transformed Carlisle Railway station.I have this week just caught the end of a similar advert, where they appear to have 'done' an UndergrounD station. So, 1) Am I imagining it? 2) Is it a genuine UndergrounD station? 3) Which station is it? 4) Should this post be moved to the quiz section?

Mutual financial benefit. NR gets a handsome fee for the use of their station and Homebase get to emphasize the fact that even the most unlikeliest places can be made to look homely, thereby encouraging the gullible viewing public to patronise their stores. LU surely would not allow it because all the open space on a station is needed for public use, would not permit closure of a station for the purpose, and the exercise could not possibly be carried out and filmed during a single night.

Could be done at the disused platforms at CX, Holborn or Aldwych though.

Well they did allow Westminster to be closed on a busy weekend to film a Harry Potter.

It was specifically to show Harry and Mr Weasley going to the Ministry; thus, KX would not have worked; so to show the Underground, they used Westminster.
In any case, it was only the ticket gates.

I would imagine that when TfL cost up the price of closing a major station for a weekend, a multi-national film company filming the next part of a highly worldwide-successful film franchise is more likely to say 'yes, we'll pay that' compared to a relatively local decorating store...

I've seen this, it looks like Charing Cross Jubliee Line. If not it's a modern looking station

Talking of Harry Potter and the Underground, does anyone recognise the rolling stock in the first picture in this article?

It looks more like a New York stock than a London one to my inexpert eye.

Indeed they are moving. Whether or not that was done in the editing I couldn't tell you.
