There's a whacking great big silver pipe in the T123-T5 tunnel. Anyone know what it's for?

There's a whacking great big silver pipe in the T123-T5 tunnel. Anyone know what it's for? It's either water or part of the evacuation fan system. At least that's what I got told.

Yes Harry, you're right! Its a live fire main, the LFB can plug directly into it with their hoses! It carries on all the way into the sidings at T5.

The fire main is split into two sections, the original runs throughout the HEX tunnels from the Portal at Stockley Park down to T4 HEX station and the newer section to T5 HEX and LUL.
HEX control can open and close valves should there be any breaks in the main.

I have also removed the specific location details you have posted and would ask that you refrain from posting any images for security reasons (see rule 7a on this forum). London Underground control room locations are regarded a high security risk and so I'd be very surprised if this location is not treated in the same vein.
