In Wandsworth, there is a great big roundabout, where the A217 (Wandsworth Bridge Road) meets the A214. There's a McDonalds, a Mercedes dealership, Wandsworth Town train station and more. In the middle of the roundabout, which as far as I can tell is also a subway, there is a door that opens into the raised concrete structure. See here: Link to Google Maps StreetviewAs I go past this roundabout almost every Sunday night, it's been bugging me; what's in there?!

I "believe" it's an Electricity substation.I used to live round there, and at one point (late 70s/early 80s?) they relandscaped the middle of the roundabout, but before,at least, its function was clearer.I think there was an LEB sign on the door. I am,however, ready to be corrected, and the more outlandish the theory, the happier I'll be!
