Yeikes hope no one was hurt and damage not too bad. Judging by the delays on the way home, it could be though. Lots of finchley central trains and southbound to euston reversing. Good luck to the tubelines/ERU chaps, can't imagine its easy out there in the wind.

I don't know the full details, however the train was unable to gain movement afterwards hence the protracted service suspension.

Presumably trains are still non-stopping Archway if they were turned there to relieve Archway - the Finchleys?

ERU took around 45 mins to get there from Camden, traffic was horrible.
Totteridge station was apparently unstaffed at the time! I know at one point the Ambulance Service were at the station but there were no staff to take them down.
From the sounds of it it wasn't servere damage to the train, just some broken windows, but the train had no forward/reverse movement.
IIRC the passengers were transferred to a train on the adjacent line.

It's taken a bit of a battering, but the damage is mainly superficial. I'd be surprised if it's out of service too long.

95ts is a little younger (but not better)! 5172 has cracks in its bogies and is now supplying kit to the rest of the fleet. It's sacrifice will not be forgotten.

A stock is nearly 50 years old and coming close to retirement. There is also a lot of redundancy in the fleet, especially with 7 units no longer required for the East London Line. The situation is different on the Northern Line - my own observation is that the peak service requirement is often only just met, and with the line upgrade approaching the number of trains required in service is going to increase if anything. If 51522 is repairable then it will be repaired, and given the damage I have observed I believe it will definitely re-enter service following suitable attention.

Just to confirm, today I saw 51522 in Golders Green Depot -- it's fully repaired and has already re-entered service I believe, not sure how long it's been back. But may be back out again shortly as I believe it is due for TBTC conversion imminently.
