Hi Folks,
When setting up the DVA Voice announcer on C69/77 stocks, do you have to select the line (ie. District/H&C/Circle) or does it know when you select from the destination which line you are on?
Have always wondered as if you set the destination from say Liverpool St to Baker Street, how would it be able to distinguish between a H&C service or a District Service?
I know the other stock would'nt have this problem as they are normally self contained, and this is the only stock it happens on (as far as I know!)
Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance...

Given that the District does not run between Liverpool Street & Baker Street, you haven't picked the best example!
It's been a long while since I last drove a C stock but IIRC, you select the route first then the start and end points - selecting the route determines the line automatically.

DOH!!! Silly me, ment H&C/Circle - stupid fingers not typing what they should!!!!
Thanks colin, though it was something along that line.
Would it allow you to announce then for example High St Kes - Olympia? Or is it purley geared for the Circles. Wimwares and Hammersmith-Barking lines as I know C's have been known to work Olympias in the past if nicked to cover for failures etc...

Yes, Edgware Road to Olympia is (or at least was) a perfectly valid route.
Richmond or Ealing to Edgware Road, however, would produce the word 'special' in place of 'District line' for reasons I've never known the answer to...
Edit: backtracking slightly to the example in the OP, Liverpool Street to Baker street would usually be announced as a H&C service - calling it a Circle service is just pure nonsense (at least as things currently stand).
The only comparable example affecting the District/H&C is Barking to Whitechapel; that would be announced as a H&C service as that is the service C stocks usually provide over that section anyway, and the drivers trained for that section are H&C drivers.
Equally, the District/Circle Tower Hill to South Ken - C stocks would be Circles in this instance as that is the normal C stock service between those locations. That being said though, it is possible during a disruption for C stocks on the Wimblewares to be diverted from Earls Court or High Street Ken to Mansion House - in that instance they'll be Districts as the drivers are District. The DVA can be set up accordingly by selecting the initial route.

Thanks for info Colin, as useual - very helpful!
Hadn't thought of them running up to Richmond or Ealing! Although I suppose there are the Ealing common trips etc. The special thing is unusual as it would I'd have thought been a district service anyway - unless they just havn't clicked the district sound track onto them! Interesting to know that it is on the system though!

I think they may well have go rid of the "special" service announcements for Richmond/Ealing now. They have reverted to District IIRC, although never been to either in a C stock.
You can set a C stock up to announce a district service to anywhere on the line, i.e. District Line service to Mansion House... or even Upminster I think. Although it has now been a few months since I had a play, so I may have forgotten
