Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone can share any info.. im interested in the maintenance schedule for the trains, what checks / servicing they do frquencies etc , how long it takes, what happens in event of breakdown, how do they get it back to depot etc etc..
i run a small bus company and am a skilled psv engineer, hence my interest in this side of things,
many thanks

Every night all trains go a basic check of the Deadman, doors, brakes, tripcock and motors during prep and signed off by depot staff.

14 daily exam-worn brake blocks & pick up shoes replaced, pick up shoes & tripcocks gauged & adjusted as necessary, trucks & suspension checked for cracks, loose fittings & worn or leaking dampers, compessors topped up with oil as necessary, saloons & cabs checked for broken glass, damaged floors/seats,all missing seals replaced, brakes, doors, traction control & safety devices tested. On the Bakerloo one 7 car was a days work for one man. 36 weekly-same as 14 daily plus axles, motors & MAs lubricated, doors gapped, all 630v circuits plus door control circuit meggered for earth faults, batteries topped up or changed as necessary, wheels gauged for deep & thin flanges. One train done by a gang of men in a day. Programme lift-body lifted off trucks & trucks overhauled, wheels and suspension changed as necessary.Takes about a week. Heavy overhaul-basically a super programme lift, when this was done at Acton Works a practically new train came back.Takes 3-4 weeks.

That's correct IMHO they don't do nowhere as good a job,but that costs money which is a no no these days.
