Anyone visiting Belgium and into trians knows about the vicinal line which runs along the coast, but not many know about the Tramway Tourisitique d'Aisne www.tta.beA nice little line situated in a wooded valley, the TTA has a wide collection of metre gauge diesel trams. It's about 50km south of Liege, which also has I'm told a very good transport museum.

I've been to Brussels, which has a very interesting bus/tram/subway integrated network. The subway has 3 lines, 1A, 1B and 2. Lines 1A and 2 use older trains, whilst line 1B uses newer ones. Lines 1A and 1B share tracks during parts of their journey. Also, the tickets are simple. You can buy a ticket, and it will take you all over the network. The catch is, they're on a time limit, e.g. a 1 hour ticket costs more than a 30 minutes ticket. So it's limited by time rather than distance.
