A technical question about the compatability of 2009 stock and 1967 stock on the Victoria line...
If the new trains have superior acceleration compared to the old stock, how does this work with regard to regulating frequency on the line? I heard that the old trains and new trains can't be run in automatic mode at the same time?
I presume that the new stock is driven in 'manual' mode so to fit in with the frequency of the existing trains and to avoid bunching and catching up too quickly with the train in front
Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I'm intrigued.

a simple answer is that both '09 and '67 are driven in automatic mode and the signalling system will keep the trains apart

And iirc the 09s will be programmed to have limited performance to "match" the 67s.

09 Stock are currently not limited. Both are run in auto mode at the same time.
ATO Line Speeds of 09 Stock will be amended during the interunning period if bunching becomes an issue (so 09 stock achieves inter station runtimes comparable to 67 stock)
