Here's a thought < plock as gauntlet thrown down> While in the pub earlier, I wondered if I could draw a tube map entirely from memory. It wouldn't include the Overground, DLR or CTL, as I know nuffin about them. Who wants to bet that I get to the ends of the Northern and just give up in puzzlement? ;D Who wants to have a go themselves and report back? I shall be back anon with the results of my experiment. I don't know how much of this is the beer talking.

There's just been a fcurse from the far end of the table and AI has said 'How could I forget about Bank?'.
TBH, she is doing a pretty good job drawing it freehand!

If you have access to a scanner then share the result with us so we can <s>point and laugh</s> congratulate a job well done.
I shall take up the challenge at some point, but not now as I'm more than half asleep and have a March 2009 map open in front of me!

AI: North of Kennington, what is it before London Bridge, mister? MRFS: Hmm..... AI: Borough! MRFS: and? AI: Oh, hmm. MRFS: Think of the 'Stranglers' song. AI: wot, 'Peaches'? MRFS: No, 'Golden Brown' [1] AI: Oh. (sound of penny dropping) 'BAKERLOO: Helefant' I daren't try and write up the order of the clues for 'round white thing that falls from the sky, not golfballs but comes after Seven Sisters'. [1] there is a bit of back story here, it involes me being thrown out of Bergen Cathedral after playing that song on the harpsichord. ;D

I blame the Pimms. Ginormous glass it was.
Version 1 was a bit of a clunk around G. Pk. I started at EC and worked left and right, then up, and it all got a bit wonky.
Vers 2 started off with the Northern Line. Then I got 'trapped' around Moogate and Bank...
Vers 3 will start when my hangover clears ;D

IVers 2 started off with the Northern Line. Then I got 'trapped' around Moogate and Bank... Draw a straight line between the two - north of Morgate is Old Street, then it throws a left towards KX - as for south after Bank there's London Bridge... As the advert says... SIMPLZ In a few days then ;D ;D ;D

I've jsut done one, all lines, Overground and DLR, plus extensions... no station names though. IT looks really nice, actually, I'm surprised!

My friend tested me on this at Uni whilst we were drunk one night. I'm not entirely sure if he was impressed or worried when I managed to draw all 12 lines with stations (I too can't be bothered with the Overground or DLR). Now if only I could do similar stunts of familiarity with the 12 subjects I'm supposed to be studying instead...

Vers#4 will be undertaken later today. I did pretty well with #3, once I got my head around the exact angles of the 'vacuum flask'; but the Jub and Bak north of Baker Street, the area around Whitechapel-Mile End and the further reaches of the Met/Cent/Pic around Uxbridge-Perivale all came unhinged. ChrisM: yes, I'll stick some scans up at some point!
