There was me surprised when I read that the answer was a DLR station, and that Deep Level hadn't participated... then I noticed the author of the photo in the answer file! It may be obvious to you, but I thought S7s were designed to run to Upminster, which (last time I checked) was further east of Barking I assume, by that token, that there's some more work to be done at that end of the network?

30 years since Morninton Cresent was shut to replace the lifts and refurbish the station? I'm going to make an executive decision and say that it's close enough for my liking... although it was only 20 years ago.

S-stock is now permitted east of Moorgate (with certain restrictions). I assume you mean beyond the Metropolitan line route to Aldgate in that ;-) Can you say what the restrictions are?

Common sense seems to be lacking here! I think the 'common sense' option described by ohmslaw was perfectly reasonable, and where my mind had gone: use LU assets to move an LU asset from one LU location to another LU location, verses paying external people to do it. You have to remember that not everyone on this forum has the full knowledge of how and why things are done as they are, and when they find these circumstances, they'll ask

Why would 5034 reach Acton by road, rather than by rail? I was under the impression that A-Stock would have been able to run there outside of traffic hours...

Usage data would say it's worth keeping open - 3.78m during 2011 according to the data on Wikipedia, and 9 other Bakerloo stations with less usage than that...

My housemate has asked me to post this...
Has anything changed relatively recently between Ruislip and Ickenham? He thinks that the trains (S and '73 stock) now sound a lot smoother coming in to, and out of Ickenham but he couldn't imagine why as there's been no engineering work other than people putting up new cable holders.

The problem is, the 1% are those that mean that TFL may reconsider doing these types of things though... especially if they put themselves / others in danger on what is, after all, an operational railway at the time. I had hoped to get out for this, but I unfortunately forgot about it when I agreed to work last night

I was thinking about this yesterday... if there are only going to be 3 S7+1s on the Met... would they actually be running them as part of regular service, or would they just remain as spare trains in the depot? I'd imagine the timetable doesn't require the whole fleet of S8s for running, with no spares?
