I've noticed since the RAT & Sandite trains have been running there seem to be a lot of Met & Central trains around with noisy flats. Is there a connection?

Its not only these lines that seem to be going through a bad spell of flats, the C69/77 and D78 seem to be suffering as well from what I've seen. Slightly off topic possibly but FGW are bad at the mo too. Have noticed there seems to be a large number of TGS vehicles running around that seem to be quite bad but doesn't seem to be so on other vehicles! My mate and I were thinking of having a competition to see how many we could spot that DIDN'T have one in the consist ;D ;D ;D

I had two trains on Tuesday with noisy flats at both ends - the last one was enough to give me a pounding headache. They had been reported the day before and returned as "servicable in depot, call point to confirm", which didn't help with the headache much and kept me busy imagining an ideal world where the depot engineers could actually test flats *in tunnels* overnight. On Wednesday I had a snip turn and my train was flat free at both ends, which was a mercy. After work, I went into Central London for a get-together with some people I know. On the way back I got a First Capital Connect train out of Kings Cross. I got a decent seat, settled down, and eventually the train pulled away... to the sound of hammering flats. ARGH! It didn't let up at all for the whole journey, which thankfully wasn't a stopping serivce so I was off it after just over ten minutes, but even so.

One of the things that realy annoys me on the FGW ones is that the TGS coach is supposed to be the quiet coach Yet one that I was on the other week was so loud you would have had to have shouted to make yourself heard! ;D It seems funny though that it is only the TGS thats affected on these and not the rest of the train in 90% of cases.

I had an EDV stick open on me the other day whilst my trainee was doing a Westinghouse into Wim PK. We didn't even make the platform. ;D It was a really wet day so of course the wheels locked up with no means of safely releasing the brakes until the train has stopped. Once shut down and re-opened we stopped it blowing and were able to limp bang bang bang into the platform. After it occurred a second time we gave it back to Hammersmith depot.

After it occurred a second time we gave it back to Hammersmith depot. Thats very kind of you! As to flats there are quite a few A stocks with flats, as there always is at this time of year.
