Hmm; I was down the coast from the 1984 earthquake that cracked Britannia Terrace. Incidentally, the last known British casualty was further round the coast when the poor lady fell downstairs in her house in Criccieth, on 12/12/40 with the magnitude 4.7 quake at Portmadoc.

Will it be like last time, when the media advertised an "earthquake in London" - which was actually centered at Market Rasen?

Will it be like last time, when the media advertised an "earthquake in London" - which was actually centered at Market Rasen? That still makes me laugh when I think about it. It woke me up (the epicentre was only about 15 miles away from here) but for some bizarre reason I ran to the window with the intention of telling what I presumed was the driver of a large vehicle with no tyres to stop and clear off! Trying to stand on a wobbling floor was quite interesting too!

I was lukcy / un lucky enough to feel the above earthquake yesterday as my girlfriend lives about 5 miles from Bromyard. It felt like when a washing machine goes into its spin and rumbles, but on a much larger scale. Although it didnt last for that long. Strange thing is people on the news said it woke them up etc etc. Unless they were on nights i find that hard to beleive as it happened at 1800ish!!
