It's amazing how high people's expectations of train service has become these days . . .
Was at Northolt yesterday, an eastbound train has just departed, and the next train was shown as 10 minutes away. OK, this is more than the scheduled off peak service on that branch (6 - 7 mins), but of course, this prompted various "tuts" and sighs.
I was thinking about what off peak services were like a few years ago. 10 minutes would have been a bonus! It wasn't that long ago that Epping had a 20 minute inter-peak frequency on Monday to Friday!

10 was always the "normal" on the Central West Ruislip branch the 4 years ago I worked there.
You get the same in zone 1 with the Circle & H&C with the expectation of a train every 2 mins.
Or as the bloke told me today that it "Always takes him 20 mins from Baker Street - Paddington so I'd rather wait 10 mins and squeeze onto a Bakerloo line train"

Or, they want one when they click their heels or stamp their feet. It just won't happen. If they lived in the Welsh Valleys or the Far North of Scotland, you'd not hear them complaining - three trans a day each way, two in Winter TT!
