South Quay is the only station south/east of the Thames?
South Quay is the only station whose platforms are highest above ground level on the whole network?

Monument, Epping and Victoria are also the names of towns / cities in the United States. South Quay, as far as I can see, isn't! You are thinking along the right lines, but you aren't quite there yet.

South Quay is the only station in the group that has a body of water on at least two sides.
South Quay is the only station in the group that doesn't have a station building.

TOK, sorry my post was referring to superteacher's post (last one on the previous page), not yours (made at the same time as mine).
I will edit it to make that clear.

There's an Epping station on the Sydney network, but none of the others.

South Quay is the odd one out as there is no station of this name on any other metro/rapid transit system in the world.
Monument: Tyne & Wear Victoria: Athens Epping: Sydney

Well done Yerkes, that's exactly right. All share their name with a station on another metro network, except South Quay Epping - Sydney [sydneynick, whose descriptions are below] (click for a larger verison) This is the view from the road overbridge to the south of the station. In the centre foreground, the red-roofed building is typical of platform shelters built during the expansion and electrification of the Sydney system in the 1930s. Behind it are new buildings less than a year old, constructed as part of adapting the station for the new Epping-Chatswood line: shelters at platform level and booking office/shops/etc on the overbridge. The track at left is the northbound track, and I don't know why it has two extra rails. The track to its right used to have bi-directional signalling: it was used for trains terminating at Epping and sometimes to allow a fast train to overtake a slow one. It has been out of use during construction work (note no overhead) but it seems to have been recently reballasted, so I expect it will be brought back into use when the new line opens. (click for a larger verison) This is also from the road overbridge, and shows the southbound line (click for a larger verison) This is taken from the road to the east of the station, and shows the new station building in all its utilitarian ugliness. Grr I very nearly said that... but just couldn't believe there was another Epping station anywhere... I wouldn't have believed it either before I saw a reference to it in an earlier photoquiz These quizzes are highly educational!

Grr I very nearly said that... but just couldn't believe there was another Epping station anywhere... As sydneynick I'm sure would concur, the CityRail suburban network also has a Regents Park and Richmond (spoiling another quiz answer!)

I deliberately chose only one station on each system - I knew Sydney had several in common. I initially thought that there was a South Keys station in Canada (Toronto?) but it turns out this is on a bus rapid transit network.
Don't worry about ruining future quiz answers - it will be a long time before I use stations with the same name on other networks as the link!
I'll also take this opportunity to publicly thank SydneyNick for taking these photos for me for this quiz at short notice.
