Hi all, Just wanted to ask a couple of questions I am unsure about. 1) How come in quite a few D Stock trains, some maps have got the Piccadilly as an interchange at Ealing Common while other maps dont? 2) How come on the D Stock maps, the Piccadilly is not marked as an interchange at Gloucester Road? 3) When District Line trains are between South Kensington and Sloane Square heading towards South Kensington, do they play 'The next station is South Kensington. Change for the Piccadilly Line and Circle Line, via High Street Kensington and Paddington' instead of at Gloucester Road because at South Kensington you can wait on the same platform whereas at Gloucester Road *I think* you have to crossover to a different platform to get the Circle Line? Thanks Uzair

2) How come on the D Stock maps, the Piccadilly is not marked as an interchange at Gloucester Road? At Gloucester Road, there are only two lifts down to the Piccadilly line, where as at both Earls Court and South Kensington, there are escalators available; so given the choices in the area, Gloucester Road isn't the most ideal of interchanges. Yes - as you say, it's a same platform interchange at South Kensington but stairs are involved in changing platforms at Gloucester Road.

1) How come in quite a few D Stock trains, some maps have got the Piccadilly as an interchange at Ealing Common while other maps dont? That is an interesting question. Someone coming from as far away as Uxbridge might need to change to a WB District for Ealing Broadway; and someone else coming from Ealing Bdwy might need to change for a WB Piccy.

They were printed in error and have been/should be replaced. ok you say that about gloucester road but on the c stocks its on there so whats the difference with another set of steps The C Stocks are there as there is cross platform interchange on the east at Glo. Rd and the west at S. Ken.

They were printed in error and have been/should be replaced. The maps also tell you to change at Gunnersbury for London Overground and National Rail services.

Don't get me started on the District DVA, although it is basically a good system there are so many flaws. There is no need for all that rubbish at S.Ken "change for Piccadilly and circle via High St Ken and Paddington" .. people know where the Circle line goes ! It should just announce "Change for Circle and Piccadilly line" (and none of that rubbish about museums) .... you don't get when arriving at Ealing Bdy "Change here for the National Rail and Central line via North Acton and Shepherds Bush" .. so why should Circle/H&C interchanges be different ?
Also it is obviously advanced enough to know the time.. as after 1700 or whatever, it stops making the tourist announcements (shame it doesn't stop making them altogether) .... so why not use the 'clock' feature for something actually USEFUL... i.e. automatically missing the Cannon Street announcement after 2130 hrs and on Sundays.

Whilst not ideal, the answer to Cannon Street is: F1 > 499 at any point during your journey.......then hit the station closed button whilst the usual announcement is playing at either Mansion House or Monument. The DVA will then miss out Cannon Street, but say "Cannon Street underground station is closed" instead

I think the reason for specifying 'Circle line via...' is to distinguish the possible directions - at S Ken it would be possible, but not sensible, to change for 'Circle line via Victoria and Tower Hill' (and which way is 'Circle Line via Liverpool Street' there?)

Circle Line via Liverpool Street from South Ken is anti-clockwise (Inner Rail).

The DVA will then miss out Cannon Street, but say "Cannon Street underground station is closed" instead The problem with that is that the system will not announce the Cannon Street closure until after you've left Mansion House (or Monument) so it needs to be supplemented with F1 > 10 while standing at the previous station to get the "The next station is closed" announcement.

It will announce that Cannon Street is closed between Tower Hill & Monument / Blackfriars & Mansion House if you put the 499 code in early enough.
