Just to let you lot know ITV3 ($ky ch119, Freeview ch10) are showing the 1970s classic comedy "On the Buses", with 2 episodes each weekday at 06.50 and 07.25. Lots of old buses for the buffs and sexist comedy for everyone else  |

I don't rate the TV series, though I like the films.
For the record, the garage in the TV series (exterior shots) was Wood Greeen Eastern National garage. The films were made at Pinewood, and the exterior of the garage is just the outside of one of Pinewood's hangars. Street scenes were filmed around the Elstree area.

ive got the 3 films they released on a box set from amazon. i love this 70's english humour, and also really like most of the carry on stuff... they filmed the skid pan scene in one of the films, at chiswick, and ive been told they used an (U) upton park bus for it. our depot did a lands end to john of groats run in 1995 for a charity on a routemaster, and 'blakey' from the programme was at your depot to see them off for the start!!! he apparently got changed into his inspector blake clothes in the toilet!! we have the 'departing photo' on the wall in the garage.  i hate you butler,that bus should have been out 10 minutes ago, etc etc. quality |
